in response to Starshine...I am so sorry to hear that. You have been my inspiration since joining aidpage earlier this year and when things looked very bleak. Just wanted to say thanks and keep up the great work!!! I found my way and help other's daily. Still working three jobs for now, but all will pay off in due time. I have had many people that want to take their future into their own hands, and since partnering with a great company, I have shown them how, before it becomes too late. I've been away for a while to grow my business and mentor those that want to help themselves, to get strong and back on their feet as well as turning into positive, conscious individuals that have learned the need to help others. We all have regrets. Things that might make us feel less than or inferior. When all the "Would of", "Should of" or "Could of's" enter our minds.
My point for this post is in hopes to get people to open up and start talking about what things if given the chance to do them over again, what would it be? I get so sick and tired of beating myself up and watching other good people do the same.
I regret so many things in life that I have done wrong. Due to my stubborn nature I have always went against the grain of great advice. And sometimes it is not my fault, it comes naturally inherited. But there is always room for changing the things that we do; that do us harm. All because of how we view ourselves.
I regret that I might have to file bankruptcy for the second time. With all of the new bills and laws that are being passed in favor of major creditors, I just gave up on being harassed for late payments. Not to mention the raised interest rate penalties, fees and always never being able to catch up and my credit is shot. But I know that I am a good person. I work two jobs, barely making ends meet. I know now that is their job to provide a service that appears to have a silver lining. Only to ensnare you into a relationship you did not ask for. One that gets in your pockets and truly does not care anything about an individual or their circumstance.
Trust me I have many more regrets to post... But healing is far more priceless. Life's learned lessons are just that. Learned experiences.
Hello Latebloomer, Your life story is a sad one but in the same token one of such hope and positivity. I thank you for sharing. I am so happy for you. That you did not stay down and let the dust settle beneath you. You picked yourself up and made it, not in the monetary sense, but in bettering yourself. Seeing the light at the end of a bleak tunnel. I wish you well, and all the best that God has to offer you and your family. So true indeed. I am working off of my laptop, that is barely working; sits upon my desktop that got a trojan virus. I always go to official microsoft websites. Try their free Microsoft Security Essentials . Times will get better, just having a bump in my path. Very thankful that I stumbled on aidpage, I have a lot of people depending on me that need help.
Hello, have you tried a one shot deal from your states welfare department? Don't give up. Try to do a search within government agencies like social security or even non profit organizations that can help people in your situation. My friend is HIV positive and receives help and aid from ADAP and HASA services. Due to your illness there is something out there for you. I am sorry that I could not give you more concrete answers or first hand knowledge. But follow leads and ask questions. Each lead will get you closer to resolve this dilemma. I have been following "Remarkablogger.com", I believe and he have very useful and pertinant information. But when I try to decipher their "lingo", I'm lost. They have another language and Being a part time computer teacher, I can't keep up, Now I know how my students feel. I know how you feel. Try to write out your 5 year goals. No strike that. Start small- your month/yearly goals. Plan and meditate. Tha always gets me through the rough times. Or you can read some of my poetry... Be well and look for hope beyond the horizons.
Am I the first to be a part of this group? Took me years to even get to this part of even writing about it, and years of therapy. Don't know where to begin- led a full life, and encountered many things. But healing and re-grouping now. There are so many different types of abuse; psychological, physical as well as emotional. But there is help out there, trust me. Be a willing participant in your life and the choices tou make. Don't be afraid to tell someone NO!
I have trusted my mechanics, that have their family owned business in Queens, NY. Paying elsewhere like "Pep Boys, Strauss, AutoZone, and even Sears had always been a proven money pit for my family. I just use them now for basic wiper blades and fluids. "They" don't seem to understand struggle and surviving from check to check and limited budgets. Finding caring and honest people to take care of your car has proven to be an invaluable asset as well as resourse. To have peace of mind is how the American Express commercials put it: "PRICELESS".
When you know your car inside out it helps to know that you are somewhat knowledgeable about maintenance. I learned the hard way so many times, pushing my cars until the can't go anymore... Been raped by companies like mentioned above because they were the only one's open on sunday's. Don't know why my cars died when they did, but at almost a 200% mark up on labor, diagnostics, and other HuHa...(just things they list on the bill when you get it), You need a stiff drink after the ordeal.
Wow, thank you for this group page, I can go on and on... You build such an attatchment with your vehicle, they do become part of your family. I named all of my cars. Wish I had the money to find them, and bring them back to life, just to squander thousands of bucks on paint and add-ons like on "Pimp My Ride", or "Foose"... Thanks ttyl.
I wholeheartedly believe it. Been caught out there one too many times. I am currently working from an old laptop that I am barely keeping alive. It rests on my desktop that does not work anymore due to trojan viruses and phishing pages. I do not know how else to make companies more responsible unless they are held more accountable. Trust me I wish I can start a couple of businesses that can fill this void, like a "Geek Squad" linked with the BBB(Better Business Bureau). One can dream. As for now swamped with working two jobs that are not going anywhere.
